Derek Sande

Derek's dryland wheat farming career began at the young age of 10 years old when he would operate a tractor working the ground ahead of the drills at seeding time. It sparked a lifelong education that has morphed into all aspects of production agriculture in the Golden Triangle of Montana.

Derek's free time is spent on the farm with his wife, Kayla, and their growing family. They stay busy taking care of their dogs, cows, chickens, and pigs. Derek has a small collection of antique farm tractors and a vast array of “someday” projects.

Derek is well-versed in FSA/USDA programs, crop insurance, commodity markets, specialty crops, finance, and land management. He is excited to join Agribusiness Trading Group and provide clients with a smooth, efficient asset transfer by utilizing his real-world experience, education, and farm-operator perspective of agriculture-based assets.
