There's also been EPA Superfund cleanup activity in this area related to historic mining, including the Afterthought Smelter down the highway and the Afterthought Mine further up the highway. Check with the EPA to see if this property is related/affected. The property adjoins approximately 292 acres of BLM land to the northwest. The elevation ranges from about 1,120 to 1,200 feet, so you're at a relatively low elevation for this part of Northern California, where snow is generally less of a concern.
