Recreation

The hunting is world-class in this draw unit for elk, mule deer, bear, mountain lion, and antelope. You can receive landowner permits with this property with proper applications through the CDW.

The areas in the game management unit are 69 and 84.

If you own over 160 acres you are eligible to turn in your acreage descriptions for one elk, one deer and one antelope tag for the units 84 and 69 combined. It can only be in one person's name. These are draw - landowner tags. They can be assigned to another person if so desired.

For the same hunting season you can turn in for a draw for the game tags available in game management unit 69 and 84. Elk, Mule Deer or Pronghorn and possibly Bear. Bear tags can be purchased over the counter sometimes. The draw deadline occurs around the 1 of April each year and if you draw an Elk license you can use both draw and landowner permits, however, one must be a cow elk tag to utilize both.

These tags are called draw tags. Draw tags can be used on private property if you own it or have permission to hunt on private lands. There is a season for a cow elk tag for private property in the big game hunting draw... not to be confused with landowner permits.

These regulations change every year so it is important to keep up with the changes at Colorado Division of Wildlife.
