At over 195,000 acres in size, Charlotte is among the 30 largest cities in the U.S. and the largest city in North Carolina. Since 1980, annexation has enabled Charlotte's land area to more than double. It's located east of the Catawba River in the Carolina Piedmont region and accounts for the majority of the area of Mecklenburg County.

Known as one of the country's fastest-growing cities, undeveloped land for sale in Charlotte has become somewhat scarce.
