If fishings not your thing you can beach comb or enjoy the local hiking or ATV trails. Kasliof is also home to the only horse back exclusive riding trails. Kasilof also offers several options for camping whether in a designated camp ground or on remote state or borough lands. Kasilof is located approximately 14 miles from the heart of Soldotna, just under 20 miles to Kenai and under 70 miles to the famous Homer Spit. The area hospitals are in Soldotna and Homer, and an addition of medical clinics and in Keani, Ninilchik and Anchor Point as well. Many options for shopping in big box stores in both Soldotna and Kenai, which also have several local small business to choose from. The community of Kasilof has a local “Mercantile” with a quaint Cafe, a gas station with both a convenience and liquor store. Their is also a roadhouse style restaurant and lodging, several fishing lodges a museum, churches a transfer station for trash and lastly a post office.
